Many Employers Are Posting Jobs But Not Actually Hiring

Remember the days when job-seekers would work their networks of friends and families in hopes of landing an in-person interview? Well, job market figures show we may be back to the future. Hiring has picked up –172,000 new jobs were created in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, on top of a 179,000-job gain in April. The government reported there were 7.6 million open positions as of April, an increase of 731,000 from the prior month.
